DescriptionWe are in search of a diligent Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the Insurance industry based in BIRMINGHAM, Michigan. The successful candidate will oversee a range of accounting functions, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and Billing Functions, with a focus on month-end close procedures and financial statement preparation and audits. The role also requires proficiency in using Sage Intacct, and experience in Statutory Accounting and Statutory Financial Reporting. Responsibilities
Oversee and manage comprehensive accounting functions with a focus on AP, AR, and Billing Functions.
Conduct month-end close procedures efficiently and accurately.
Prepare and audit financial statements regularly to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Utilize Sage Intacct for various accounting tasks and financial management.
Comply with statutory accounting principles and prepare accurate statutory financial reports.
Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.
Maintain accurate customer credit records.
Monitor customer credit accounts and take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments.
Effectively respond to and resolve customer credit inquiries.
Contribute to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the accounting team.
Requirements
Proficiency in managing Accounting Functions
Experience handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
Skilled in Billing Functions and Month End Close procedures
Ability to prepare Financial Statements and conduct Financial Statement Audits
Knowledge of Sage Intacct software
Understanding of Statutory Accounting principles
Experience in Statutory Financial Reporting
Previous experience in the insurance industry preferred
Ability to supervise and manage a team
Excellent communication and leadership skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
Professional accounting certification (CPA, CMA, etc.) is a plus
