Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions
- Supervise accounting clerks and manage their performance and development
- Develop and implement department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Lead the transition to ACH electronic payment system and coordinate with vendors for the transition
- Drive the initiative to take the department paperless, including setting up a document scanning process and creating a master document filing system
- Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies
- Prepare check runs for the Controller's approval
- Prepare and post journal entries as part of month-end close procedures
- Perform account reconciliations and assist with audit preparation
- Utilize various accounting software systems and Microsoft Excel for tasks
- Use your knowledge of accounting functions to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role such as an Accounts Payable Supervisor/Manager
- Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
- Comprehensive knowledge of Accounting Functions
- Extensive experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
- Skills in Check Processing and conducting Check Runs
- Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies
- Experience in Expense Reporting and Month End Close procedures
- Familiarity with the AS400 system
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- University degree in a relevant field
- Experience in Document Scanning
- Familiarity with Department SOP's
- Ability to Research Discrepancies
- Experience in preparing Journal Entries
- Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
