DescriptionWe are offering a short term contract to hire employment opportunity for an Application Support Engineer in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This hybrid/ remote role combines the responsibilities of Application Administration and DevOps Engineering, overseeing the lifecycle of internal and third-party applications and managing DevOps activities. This role will ensure seamless integration with our continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and that applications meet business requirements and operate smoothly. Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of assigned internal and third-party applications, including maintenance, troubleshooting, diagnosing, and fixing production software issues.
Act as the primary point of contact for application-related incidents and problems, ensuring timely resolution and root cause analysis.
Handle application-related requests and enhancements, provisioning new users as needed, updating business workflows, and modifying system configuration.
Monitor application performance, conduct regular reviews, and implement improvements to optimize efficiency and reliability.
Maintain comprehensive documentation for application configurations, processes, and procedures.
Ensure applications comply with internal policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, implementing security measures as needed.
Provide training and support to end-users, enhancing their ability to utilize applications effectively.
Identify opportunities for process improvements, system enhancements, and cost savings.
Maintain and test various department system software to ensure correct setup.
Design, develop, implement, and manage continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines to automate and streamline application delivery.
Implement and manage configuration management tools to maintain consistency across development, testing, and production environments.
Automate routine tasks, deployments, and infrastructure changes to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
Requirements
Must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience in the role of Application Support Engineer or a similar position
Proficiency in working with databases is essential
Familiarity with Microsoft software and tools is required
Experience in AB Testing is a must
Expertise in Active Directory management is necessary
Knowledge in Application Support is required
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain computer hardware is needed
Experience in Configuration Management is desired
Proficiency in System Patching and Network Troubleshooting is required
Experience in System Upgrades and Change Management is necessary
Familiarity with Azure DevOps and Automated Deployment is beneficial
Knowledge of SugarCRM and ServiceNow ITSM is highly advantageous
Must be able to work in a team and independently
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail is required
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential
Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize workloads effectively.
