We are in search of an Assistant Controller to join our client's team based in Indianapolis, Indiana. The chosen candidate will be instrumental in supporting the financial operations of our properties and establishing financial policies. This role is pivotal in the real estate development and management industry and requires a hands-on approach to ensure the financial health of our properties.Responsibilities: • Assist in managing and overseeing internal controls and accounting procedures• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and daily financial transactions• Assist with multi-state tax issues and filings, including Property Tax and Sales Tax• Analyze and interpret financial data for the purpose of accurate and timely reporting of business performance• Participate in the ongoing development and improvement of internal processes, implementing new systems and technologies when required• Support month-end and year-end close processes• Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process• Ensure the company's financial compliance with state, federal, and local legal requirements• Develop and implement efficient accounting processes• Provide guidance to financial and accounting staff, fostering a team-oriented environment• Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests as necessary• Manage internal controls to minimize business risk.
