DescriptionWe are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Audit Manager in the Public sector based in Ventura, California. This role involves overseeing the compliance of our affordable property portfolio, primarily focusing on Low-Income Tax Credit program, HUD, USDA-Rural Development, HOME, and other affordable programs. The Audit Manager will also assist Resident Managers with compliance needs and report directly to the Director of Property Management. Responsibilities
Oversee the Annual Recertification process for each property to ensure timely completion
Review AR weekly reports to assess AR progress and communicate any inconsistencies to Regional Property Supervisors
Conduct post AR file review and audits of resident files in preparation for State, County, City, and Federal audits and inspections
Manage the review and approval process of all tenants’ files for eligibility including move-ins, first year recertification, annual recertifications, unit transfers and interim files
Implement Compliance training to the Property Management staff
Assist leasing team with marketing and lease-up activities of new sites related to occupancy requirements
Coordinate the approval process of all resident move-in files during the rent-up process of new properties for accuracy and compliance
Follow internal policies and procedures to ensure staff compliance with regulatory requirements relating to resident files and general project compliance
Assist in the completion of monthly submission of the USDA-RD rents through MINC
Provide support to Property Management staff with Rent Café and YARDI
Ensure the department collects, summarizes, and distributes Maximum Income Limits and Maximum Rent Limits for each funding source annually
Responsible for entering new rents into YARDI for all properties
Attend monthly Property Management meetings to review and report on compliance issues and regulatory agency meetings as required
Collaborate on new procedures and preparation in Compliance training for current Resident Managers, Assistance Resident Managers, and new Property Management staff
Respond to emails for compliance questions from staff and agencies under the guidance of the Property Management Director.
