DescriptionWe are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Controller near the Northfield, Vermont area. The successful candidate will be involved in a wide range of tasks, including maintaining the accounting system, managing accounting policies and procedures, and overseeing internal controls over accounting transactions. Responsibilities
- Manage the maintenance of an effective accounting system
- Oversee and enhance internal controls over accounting transactions
- Develop and implement robust accounting policies and procedures
- Supervise the chart of accounts and ensure its orderly management
- Conduct regular auditing to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Take responsibility for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Oversee budget processes and ensure they are carried out efficiently
- Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closings
- Generate ad hoc reports as required
- Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Budget Processes, Month End Close, Year End Closings, and Ad Hoc Reporting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management.
- Proven experience with auditing practices and principles.
- Familiarity with budget processes and financial forecasting.
- Ability to handle Month End Close and Year End Closings efficiently and accurately.
- Experience in creating Ad Hoc Reporting for various financial scenarios.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- Professional certification (such as CPA) is a plus.
