Our client, a well-established and growling financial services company in Chicago, is hiring a Senior Legal Counsel to join their team. Position is located in the Chicago Loop and requires that you work in the Chicago Loop office a few days per week. Competitive base salary, bonus potential, and generous benefits package.

Primary Accountabilities/Responsibilities:

• Manage legal projects as part of a dynamic team.
• Manage litigation of arbitrations and global cases, including debt collection, cyber matters, and matters arising from various business lines.
• Manage a variety of regulatory issues, including inquiries, complaints, enforcement and monitoring by regulators and auditors.
• Prepare employees, with and without outside counsel, for regulatory interviews or exams, depositions, and trial/hearing testimony.
• Create and maintain tracking tools and reports created for litigation and regulatory matters.
• Oversee internal discovery efforts (with and without outside counsel), including coordination with internal e-discovery team.
• Serve as a legal resource on corporate/business matters to client-facing staff, as well as internal support functions.
• Participate in monitoring, maintaining, and implementing corporate governance practices and policies including compliance with various global exchange listing requirements and jurisdictional regulations.
• Interact with outside legal counsel.
• Support the GC in implementing and maintaining compliance programs.
• Collaborate with legal department to identify and mitigate risk exposures for company.
• Stay current on legal developments that affect the business and foster continuing personal improvement in the quality and level of legal advice provided.

Job Requirements:

• JD and Bar membership required
• 5 years of experience post licensure
• Superior Project Management Skills
• Strong research and drafting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Team player with ability to work independently
• Possess strong integrity and exhibit professionalism and enthusiasm
• Proven, responsible and cogent decision making ability, problem solving skills and judgment
• Effective leadership skills and ability to contribute strategic insight while providing hands-on legal counsel
