Director of Operations
Oakland (very close to BART)
On-site for the first couple of months and then Hybrid (3 days - flexible)
$200k-250k base Discretionary Bonus
Our client is looking for an experienced Director of Operations to join their team in Oakland. They will be responsible for establishing beneficial company practices, policies, and standard operating procedures, pivotal in supporting business growth and adherence to rules and regulations. As Director of Operations, ensuring our company's capacity to thrive within the competitive and regulatory landscape of the retirement industry will be a key focus.
Responsibilities will include:
- Supervising and managing various departments such as Cash Management, Real Estate, Alternative Asset, Precious Metals, Distributions, Transfers, Office Administration, Regulatory Reporting, and Regulatory Compliance.
- Leading the key system upgrade for a successful, uninterrupted integration that enhances the organization's overall efficiency.
- Encouraging a collaborative, accountable, and continuously improving work environment while addressing staff-related issues in collaboration with the Human Resources Director.
- Developing key performance indicators (KPIs) for each Operations team, using collected data to make considered business decisions and strategic planning.
- Actively contributing to the leadership team with valuable insights about industry trends, compliance requirements, effective practices, performance standards, and management strategies.
- Assisting in setting strategic business goals for the organization, contributing to the development of new services and playing a crucial role in overall management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business Administration is required.
- A minimum of ten years of management experience in banking, finance, bank audit, examination, or related fields.
- Certified IRA Services Professional or Qualified Plan Professional designations are a definite advantage.
- Strong understanding of accounting, bank operations, and finance principles.
- Superior analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data, policies, and procedures.
- Familiarity with IRA industry regulations.
- Proven track record of mentorship and team guidance.
- Experience leading transformational initiatives, particularly in system implementation.
