The role entails handling accounting and financial functions with a specific focus on the construction sector.Responsibilities:• Accurate processing of invoices for goods and services, ensuring they are properly coded and approved.• Preparation and execution of electronic transfers and payments, along with check runs.• Posting transactions to journals, ledgers, and other records to maintain up-to-date financial information.• Vendor relationship management, including reconciling vendor statements, correcting discrepancies, maintaining vendor files, and handling inquiries.• Negotiating with vendors to secure improved payment terms and discounts.• Thorough and organized maintenance of accounts payable files.• Assisting in month-end closing and accruals and preparing analysis of accounts as required.• Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures and assisting with audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.• Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate and timely payment of invoices and communicating with the finance team and management regarding issues and discrepancies.• Proficiency in using Sage 100 and other relevant software for construction accounting.
