Robert Half is Hiring an Events Manager Near Washington, DC

DescriptionWe are offering an exciting opportunity for an Events Manager based in Washington, District of Columbia. This role entails comprehensive management and coordination of a variety of events, including both in-person and virtual. The Events Manager will be responsible for all facets of event planning, from inception to completion, ensuring a successful and smooth execution of each event.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage all aspects of event and conference planning, including budgeting and logistics.
  • Coordinate and manage all event-related deadlines and tracking documents.
  • Plan and implement a wide range of in-person and virtual events locally and potentially internationally.
  • Utilize web-based tools to develop and maintain event project plans, tracking all event details to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Support the selection process for venues and suppliers for conferences and events through the Request for Proposal (RFP) process.
  • Oversee budgeting and financial tracking for events, including estimating expenses, tracking budgets, reporting on overspends or underspends, and ensuring invoices are accurate and paid timely.
  • Identify and assess conference or event needs, draft meeting specifications, and communicate conference requirements to venue and suppliers.
  • Execute a variety of events including meetings, webinars, working groups, briefings, salons, educational seminars, and conferences.
  • Manage logistics for both in-person and virtual events, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.
  • Handle the preparation and procurement of presentations and related needs for speakers, ensuring all details are confirmed and organized.

RequirementsRequirements:
BS/BA degree
3 years experience in a similar role as an events and conference planner
Proficient in MS Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, & Excel
Excellent communication skills both written & verbal
Stable job history
