We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Jr. Staff Accountant in the Transportation industry, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a Jr. Staff Accountant, your role will be to perform various accounting functions, including accounts receivable and accounts payable tasks, under supervision. You will also be involved in the preparation of financial reports, account reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with state and federal laws, as well as GAAP standards. Responsibilities: • Perform accounts payable and accounts receivable functions • Prepare financial reports under supervision • Reconcile bank and accrued accounts payable • Issue invoices and collect payments for accounts receivable • Issue checks for local accounts payable and post transactions • Perform reconciliations for cash, check, and credit card transactions • File invoices accurately and efficiently • Scan checks, credit card batches, and bank deposits into SharePoint • Verify business credit references and submit findings for credit approval to the accounting team • Process payroll and post manual payroll checks into Great Plains accounting software.
