They are in search of a diligent and qualified Labor and Employment In-House Counsel for a long term fully remote contract need.The Labor & Employment In-House Counsel will be primarily responsible for managing employment litigation, drafting employee handbooks, and implementing sound employment policies. Your knowledge and insights will play a vital role in shaping the company's employment practices, while ensuring legal compliance and a positive work environment.Key Responsibilities:Oversee and manage all employment-related litigation cases, including discrimination, wrongful termination, wage & hour, and employment contract disputes.Draft, review and update company employee handbook, ensuring it reflects current federal, state, and local legislation and corresponds to the latest industry practices.Develop and implement comprehensive and compliant employment policies, procedures, and protocols.Guide the company in the implementation and enforcement of workplace policies and matters related to employment law.Provide preventative legal guidance and risk management advice to management.Conduct regular training and workshops for staff on understanding and adhering to employment policies.Collaborate closely with outside counsel on litigation matters when needed.Stay updated with the latest legal trends and effectively communicate these updates to the corresponding departments.
