Robert Half is Hiring a Part-Time Medical Records Specialist Near Fort Myers, FL

DescriptionWe are representing a leading provider of risk-adjustment services, software, and solutions for health plans and medical groups. Our client is seeking a tech-savvy, quick-learning individual with strong problem-solving skills to fill the position of Medical Records Specialist.
Key Responsibilities
  • Medical Record Retrieval: Collect medical records from various healthcare facilities for retrospective and prospective reviews on behalf of health plans and clients.
  • Fieldwork: Travel to provider offices within a 40-mile radius to retrieve paper and electronic medical charts. Securely upload them into the client’s system.
  • Remote Work: Complete your day’s tasks and submissions from the comfort of your home. No need to report to an office after fieldwork.
  • Training: Participate in two days of remote paid training in risk adjustment. Training will be conducted virtually from home.
  • Compensation: Receive hourly pay with mileage reimbursement starting from mile one, including travel between locations.
  • Equipment: All necessary work equipment will be provided, including a password-protected laptop, scanner, and flash drives, all in a convenient, wheeled backpack.

  • Dynamic Work Environment: Enjoy traveling to various healthcare offices and meeting new people.
Required Computer Skills
  • Proficient in downloading/uploading files and organizing them efficiently.
  • Capable of transferring files from software to a desktop folder.
  • Skilled in copying and pasting files, including transferring them to a flash drive.
  • Experience in document imaging or scanning is a plus.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Insurance/liability policy in the team member’s name.
  • Reliable, secure internet connection (download speed of 50 Mbps, upload speed of 5 Mbps).
  • Meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Availability from Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, with flexibility for projects requiring three or more consecutive days.
  • Basic knowledge of electronic medical record (EMR) applications such as Epic, Allscripts, e-Clinical Works, Nextgen, etc., is a plus.
