Robert Half is Hiring a PC Technician Near Lancaster, PA

DescriptionWe are seeking a PC Technician to join our team in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. This role is critical in supporting the operations of our organization by maintaining and troubleshooting IT systems, networks, and telecommunication systems. This position offers a contract employment opportunity and does not require programming skills but does require significant skill in diagnosing and debugging PC.
100% ONSITE IN LANCASTER, PA Responsibilities
  • Adhere to safe practices in the performance of duties.
  • Respond to staff requests for help through a web-based ticketing-system.
  • Support all technology systems of the organization and its departments including but not limited to hardware, software, local and web-based applications, audio/visual equipment.
  • Assist staff with hardware and software challenges.
  • Assist staff with new hardware and software through the use or development of training materials.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software issues, attempt to replicate reported technical problems and look for solutions.
  • Upgrade systems to enable compatible software.
  • Monitor overall network performance, recommend changes or upgrades as needed.
  • Maintain and continually update knowledge of security protocols, IT systems, networking infrastructures, and database systems.
  • Document and execute proper Cyber Security requirements.
  • Perform system administration duties—including but not limited to addition or change of user profiles, passwords, menus, and libraries; system monitoring and general housekeeping.
  • Maintain working components through repair or replacement.
  • Manage IT systems and ensure confidentiality of employee and City information.
Skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows, Linux, Active Directory, Microsoft Azure.
Requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems
  • Experience with Active Directory
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware and software issues
  • Strong understanding of network protocols and infrastructure
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose technical issues accurately
  • Strong communication skills to interact with users and understand their issues
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Understanding of IT security best practices
  • Relevant professional certifications would be advantageous
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is desirable
  • Prior experience in a similar role would be advantageous.
