DescriptionRobert Half is seeking a Procurement Manager to join our client's team in the Edison, New Jersey area. The successful candidate will oversee the procurement process within our organization, negotiate contracts with vendors, and manage inventory reports. This role is critical to ensuring the efficiency of our supply chain and the quality of the raw materials we procure.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies that align with company standards and regulatory requirements
  • Secure favorable terms, pricing, and service agreements through negotiation with vendors
  • Identify and cultivate new supply sources to maintain competitive advantage and mitigate risks
  • Evaluate bids, select vendors, and manage contracts effectively
  • Monitor inventory levels and optimize procurement processes to minimize costs and maximize efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align purchasing activities with production needs
  • Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as necessary
  • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory requirements affecting procurement
  • Foster a culture of collaboration and excellence within the purchasing team
  • Participate in strategic planning and contribute to cost-saving initiatives
  • Handle purchasing-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.

Requirements
  • Demonstrable experience in a Procurement Manager role or similar
  • Proficiency in utilizing procurement software, such as ERP Solutions, About Time, and e-sourcing
  • Familiarity with logistics and materials handling
  • Proficiency in 3M and CapEx is essential
  • Strong knowledge of commodity management and cost savings strategies
  • Ability to develop and implement effective procurement strategies
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a keen eye for identifying potential cost-saving opportunities
  • Able to analyze complex data and make informed business decisions.
