DescriptionWe are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Project Manager/Sr. Consultant in Alexandria, Virginia, United States. This role primarily involves overseeing various teams within a government context, utilizing PM and SDLC methodologies, and managing vendors. Responsibilities
Provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of the PM methodology.
Utilize a broad understanding and awareness of SDLC methodologies.
Apply previous experience within state government to manage multiple teams effectively.
Leverage experience with Blue Crest & Asset Works.
Negotiate effectively with business and IT partners on business requirements and timeframes on mid-size initiatives.
Rally support among peers and work effectively within challenging situations.
Employ strong analytical and problem-solving skills, balancing the need to gather detail with the need to solve the problem.
Identify and apply different communication mediums based on content and audience at all levels (both internal and external) to achieve intended goals.
Use advanced PC skills (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.) and experience with managing Vendors.
Requirements
Must have at least 5 years of experience in Project Management or as a Senior Consultant.
Demonstrable experience with SDLC Methodology is required.
Prior experience working with State Government or Government Programs is essential.
Must have strong Vendor Management skills.
Excellent communication and organizational abilities are required.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work towards long-term goals is necessary.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to motivate and lead a team.
Must possess strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or related field is preferred.
PMP (Project Management Professional) certification is a plus.
Must have excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to manage budgets and understand financial implications of project decisions.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse community.
Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest degree of integrity and confidentiality.
Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Must be able to work independently as well as part of a team.
Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage complex projects from start to finish.
Must have the ability to adapt to changing priorities and remain flexible in response to the needs of the project.
Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting, negotiating, and change management.
Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate teams to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects. Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings.
