Robert Half is Hiring a Property Administrator Near Chesapeake, VA

DescriptionWe are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a HCV Specialist in the Housing industry in Chesapeake, Virginia. The role entails planning, organizing, and conducting applicant interviews, briefings, and document processes including leases and contracts. The incumbent will advise participants and property owners on policies, regulations, guidelines, and procedures while maintaining appropriate documentation.
Responsibilities:
  • Implement the transition of residents under portability with the Housing Choice Voucher program in collaboration with external agencies.
  • Determine program eligibility; interview housing applicants; investigate and verify applicant and participant information for accuracy and completeness; contact applicants and other agencies to discuss and clarify discrepancies.
  • Prepare/review leases and documentation involved in the occupancy, eligibility, and rental process; prepare notices to participants and property owners regarding changes of status; receive information and process participant transfers; process inspection requests and prepare the necessary documentation.
  • Prepare correspondence to various agencies, landlords, and businesses to verify applicant data including total family income, current assets, and family composition; affirm applicant information as required; prepare information for input into data processing systems and obtain output reports as required.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office Suites and Microsoft Outlook for daily tasks and correspondence.
  • Accurately document all processes and maintain records.
  • Handle insurance matters related to property management.
  • Use property management software for efficient and effective management of tasks and responsibilities
Requirements
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in a Property Administrator role or similar
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites including Microsoft Outlook is essential
  • Experience in managing correspondence and preparing documentation is required
  • Knowledge of insurance procedures in the context of property management
  • Familiarity with Property Management Software is a prerequisite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of housing association industry standards and regulations is a plus
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
