Responsibilities:

• Providing dependable and practical legal advice and assistance across the organization, specifically related to quota share, agent agreements, and re-insurance.
• Drawing on your extensive knowledge of insurance contracts to review, draft, negotiate, and finalize various types of agreements for our insurance business.
• Handling all aspects of legal contractual matters from initial advice on contract terms and conditions through to closure and documentation.
• Collaborating with other internal departments, such as sales, operations, HR, and finance to ensure all necessary approvals and due diligence have been completed prior to finalizing agreements.
• Protecting the company by ensuring we adhere to all laws, regulations and any specific contractual obligations.
• Conducting and coordinating research into a variety of legal issues related to insurance.
• Providing training to the company on contractual matters relating to insurance.

Qualifications:

• J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar.
• Proven experience as a transactional attorney specifically within the insurance industry.
• Deep understanding of insurance law and extensive experience with contractual agreements including quota share, sub-producer, agent agreements, and re-insurance.
• High attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Analytical thinker with strong conceptual and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent negotiation skills with a proven ability to create legal defensive strategies.
