The Role
As a Senior Legal Counsel, you will play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and support across the business. This position is essential in ensuring compliance, managing legal risks, and supporting strategic business objectives. You will collaborate closely with various departments, offering insights and solutions to complex legal issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive legal advice on a wide range of issues related to financial services law.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and APRA/ASIC regulations.
- Manage and mitigate legal risks.
- Support the business with strategic initiatives and projects.
- Liaise with external legal counsel as necessary.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior legal staff.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in private practice with a strong background in financial services law.
- Expertise: In-depth knowledge of financial services regulations.
