About the Role:

I am partnered with an excited venture capital firm who are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Network Engineer to join the team in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and managing complex network infrastructures. This role requires a deep understanding of both on-premises and cloud-based network environments, with a focus on maintaining high availability, security, and performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the reliability and scalability of our network systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, deploy, and manage scalable network architectures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and wireless networks.
• Monitor network performance, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and ensure network availability and reliability.
• Configure and manage network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and network access control.
• Collaborate with other IT teams to support cloud network integration, particularly with AWS, Azure, and GCP.
• Perform network troubleshooting and provide technical support for network-related issues.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, procedures, and configurations.
• Lead network-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and within budget.
• Mentor and provide guidance to junior network engineers.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong background in enterprise-level network design and administration.
• Expertise in configuring and managing Cisco, Juniper, and/or Arista network equipment.
• Proficiency with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, PRTG, and Wireshark.
• Strong understanding of network protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.).
• Experience with network security technologies, including Cisco ASA, Palo Alto Networks, or Fortinet firewalls.
• Knowledge of cloud networking solutions, including AWS VPC, Azure Virtual Network, and GCP Networking.
• Familiarity with SD-WAN solutions and technologies.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications such as CCNP, JNCIP, or equivalent.
• Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Python scripting, or other network automation platforms.
• Experience with hybrid cloud environments and integration.
