DescriptionWe are offering an opportunity for a Data Engineer based in Cleveland, Ohio. This role revolves around designing and developing ETL processes, data models, and reporting artifacts in line with business requirements. Additionally, the position entails monitoring and tuning data loads and queries, addressing data integrity issues, and communicating functional and technical issues effectively. Responsibilities
Translate business requirements into star/snowflake schema data models.
Design and develop ETL processes to support the population of the Enterprise Data Warehouse and cater to general data movement needs.
Create and implement key reporting artifacts.
Monitor and tune queries and data loads, address user queries regarding data integrity, and communicate functional and technical issues.
Work collaboratively with IT management to develop a strategic roadmap for Data Warehousing and BI.
Empower business users by providing access to key data for reporting and business information analysis.
Establish and ensure compliance to database standards throughout the development lifecycle.
Mentor DW/BI staff, providing feedback and guidance.
Plan and lead complex DW/BI implementations.
Skills
Proficient in Microsoft Power BI, Microsoft SQL Server, Data Warehousing, and ETL - Extract Transform Load.
Strong analytical skills to solve and model complex business requirements.
Ability to collaborate on a team with infrastructure, BI report development, and business analyst resources, and clearly communicate solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Knowledge of DW/BI user security design and management.
Ability to monitor performance of and tune complex DW and BI processes.
Knowledge of RDBMS concepts, stored procedures, and triggers.
Self-starter, with strong analytical and communication skills.
Project leadership/management skills.
Requirements
Must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the role of a Data Engineer or a similar position.
Proficiency in Microsoft Power BI is necessary.
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server is required.
Must have knowledge and experience in Data Warehousing.
Expertise in ETL (Extract Transform Load) processes is a must.
Candidates should possess excellent problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and teamwork skills are required.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Must have a strong understanding of database structure systems and data mining.
Familiarity with data visualization tools and machine learning is a plus.
