The Senior Network Engineer serves as a technical leader within the IT team, guiding network engineers and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure robust and secure network operations.Key Responsibilities:Network Architecture and Design:Design scalable and resilient network architectures to meet current and future business requirements.Evaluate and recommend network technologies and solutions, including routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and VPNs, based on performance, reliability, and security criteria.Develop detailed network design documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and implementation plans.Network Implementation and Optimization:Configure and deploy network devices and services, ensuring adherence to design specifications and security best practices.Optimize network performance through monitoring, tuning, and capacity planning; implement network upgrades and enhancements as needed.Troubleshoot complex network issues across multiple layers (L2-L7), utilizing packet analysis and network diagnostic tools.Network Security and Compliance:Implement and maintain robust network security measures, including access control, segmentation, firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and VPNs.Conduct regular security assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration tests; develop and enforce network security policies and procedures.Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR) and organizational security requirements.Technical Leadership and Mentorship:Provide technical leadership and guidance to junior network engineers; conduct knowledge-sharing sessions and technical training.Lead network-related projects from conception to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and objectives.Collaborate with IT leadership and stakeholders to define strategic initiatives and drive technical innovation.
