We are seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant in Westerly, Rhode Island, who will be joining our team on a short-term contract basis. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for managing both accounts payable and receivable, performing bank reconciliations, maintaining the general ledger, and preparing journal entries. The role also involves executing the month-end close process and becoming proficient in various software systems including NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP.Responsibilities:• Manage and process accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR)• Perform bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy• Maintain the general ledger and ensure all entries are accurate and up-to-date• Prepare journal entries as part of the regular accounting cycle• Execute the month-end close process efficiently and accurately• Utilize various software systems such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP for accounting tasks• Collaborate with team members to ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met• Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structure• Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closes• Resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
