Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain operating systems including but not limited to Windows, Linux, and Mac.
- Work with physical devices such as servers and printers.
- Utilize cloud computing applications like Office365, Google Cloud Platform, and AWS.
- Set up and maintain Local Area Networks (LAN) and Wide Area Networks (WAN).
- Implement and oversee network security features like firewalls.
- Provide help desk support to other employees and explain complex technical issues in an understandable manner.
- Configure network settings according to the needs of the organization.
- Monitor system performance and resolve issues as they arise.
- Assist in the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures to ensure a secure and effective system environment.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals and stakeholders to optimize the use of system resources.
- Applicant must have a minimum of 7 years of experience in the role of a Systems Administrator.
- Proficient in network configuration and related technologies.
- Possesses excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and monitor system performance.
- Proven experience in system upgrades, backups, and recovery.
- Knowledge of various operating systems and platforms.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain a secure system through understanding of system vulnerabilities and mitigation techniques.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for the purpose of team collaboration and report writing.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Relevant professional certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server , or VMware Certified Professional – Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) are desirable.
- Must be available for on-call work and potential out-of-hours issues.
- Applicant must have the ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
