Robert Half is Hiring a VP Controller Near Bridgewater, MA

We are looking for a skilled and meticulous VP Controller in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. This role will ensure that our organization's financial objectives align with the directives set forth by our executive leadership, in compliance with current audit and regulatory requirements. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity in the banking industry.
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and enforce key policy statements including capital adequacy, liquidity management, investments, and risk tolerance.
  • Manage the accounting department to optimize efficiency and productivity, including routine employment decisions, performance reviews, work assignment, and training and coaching of subordinates.
  • Uphold a robust internal control structure ensuring that accounting policies, processes, and financial reports conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Prepare quarterly allowance for loan loss calculation and analysis, and account for the Credit Union’s impaired loans and foreclosed real estate.
  • Oversee the month-end close process and preparation of monthly internal Board reports.
  • Ensure General Ledger reconciliations are performed in a timely manner and that any Accounting write-offs comply with the Accounting policy.
  • Provide support and documentation for the Audited Financial Statements and 990 and 990T process, including maintenance of the footnotes for the audited financial statements.
  • Work with Executive leadership to coordinate the Annual Operating Budget with the assistance of Senior Staff and coordinate the monthly Forecast process, updating the financial reports promptly.
  • Perform financial analysis and product cost analysis for current and future products.
  • Coordinate the Asset/Liability Management program in conjunction with the management Asset/Liability Committee and Board Asset / Liability Committee.
  • Assist Executive leadership with the monitoring of daily liquidity, sources, and uses of cash, and adherence to the liquidity policy.
  • Handle all quarterly regulatory reporting: Call Report, FHLB QCR, and MIAC Mortgage Servicing Reporting by the required deadlines.
  • Proven skills in C-Suite level communication and decision making
  • Demonstrated abilities in providing exceptional Customer Service
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in Credit Risk Management and Market Risk Management
  • Proficiency in Data or Gap Analysis
  • Solid understanding of General Accounting principles
  • Familiarity with Credit Union Policy, Federal Credit Union, and KCT Credit Union guidelines
  • Experience in Banking Compliance, Compliance Risk and Compliance Audit
  • Ability to assess and manage Risk Tolerance
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
