Our client is seeking a dedicated and meticulous Quality Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply quality and statistical principles in maintaining safety and quality systems within a laboratory and site operations setting. The successful candidate will be instrumental in tracking non-conformances, analysing quality issues, owning quality documentation, monitoring product quality performance, representing the company to customers, and coaching employees in quality assurance principles. What you'll do:

As a Quality Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the highest standards of safety and quality within our client's operations. Your expertise will be crucial in documenting non-conformances across various departments, analysing quality issues, developing corrective actions, and ensuring all relevant documentation is up-to-date. You will also monitor product quality performance using statistical tools while representing the company during customer interactions. Furthermore, your ability to coach employees on quality assurance principles will be key in fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

  • Documenting and tracking non-conformances for incoming materials, internal departments, and customers
  • Analysing quality issues and developing corrective actions; including customer notifications, rework, waste, and other costs of quality contributors
  • Owning quality documentation pertaining to the work cell such as specifications, inspection documents, testing requirements, sampling plans, LIMs configuration and methods
  • Monitoring product quality performance through SPC and CPK analysis of critical raw material and product parameters
  • Representing the company to customers during communications/visits with the responsibility to ensure preventive systems are in place for the customer's product
  • Timely disposition of materials identified as non-conforming, SMOG, and / or scrap
  • Coaching/Instructing employees in quality assurance principles and methodology
  • Ensuring operators are adequately trained to undertake the quality standards in accordance with customer or quality system requirements

What you bring:

The ideal Quality Engineer will bring a wealth of experience from a manufacturing environment, with a strong background in continuous improvement and problem-solving. You will have proven experience with ISO 9001 and AS9100 quality systems, as well as proficiency in using Six-Sigma tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and chemical or mechanical testing. Your ability to navigate ERP, Laboratory Management software, quality systems, and Management of Change will be crucial to your success in this role.

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering field of discipline
  • 5-10 years of relevant work experience in a quality/process engineering function in a manufacturing environment
  • Continuous improvement background with demonstrated experience in problem solving and root cause analysis
  • 3-5 years of experience with ISO 9001 and or AS9100 quality systems
  • Experience using Six-Sigma tools, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and chemical and/or mechanical testing
  • Proficiency in ERP, Laboratory Management software, quality systems, and Management of Change
