Summary:
The basis function will be to teach all students enrolled in your class (<25).
Essential Duties and Responsibilities [Other duties may be assigned]:
- Establishes and maintains a purposeful and equitable environment for learning, in which students feel safe, valued, and respected by instituting routines and by setting clear expectations for student behavior.
- Thorough knowledge of content, pedagogy skills in delivering instruction, engages students by using a variety of instructional strategies.
- Demonstrates professionalism through qualities that characterize a professional person in aspects that occur in and beyond the classroom/building. (Be a role model).
- Emphasizes oral and written communication skills in assigned field.
- Prepares daily lesson plans (subject to weekly review by Principal/Assistant Principal). Follow lesson plans.
- Maintains daily attendance records.
- Composes, compiles and grades tests.
- Completes student evaluations and report cards at end of each marking period.
- Assists in the evaluation and development of curriculum including course descriptions and curriculum mapping.
- Counsels and refer students to school nurse, counselor, assistant principal and/or principal when the need arises.
- Assists in the selection and requisition of textbooks and/or other materials related to subject area.
- Maintains files, all assessment materials, attendance, and lesson plans.
- Submits appropriate reports to the Principal, as requested.
- Enforces RCCS policies with appropriate discipline.
- Assists in the selection and placement of students in classroom setting.
- Prepares programs of study, and overall, meet the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the student.
- Collaborates with colleagues in the education process and assists with the operation of the building.
- Participates in general staff meetings. Participates in teacher’s staff meetings, as scheduled.
- Participates in various emergency drills (e.g. lock downs, safety meetings, evacuation plans, crisis team, etc.).
- Keeps up-to-date with new technology, computer programs and equipment.
- Becomes acquainted with all learning materials available through RCCS.
- Effectively manages a classroom and enforces discipline.
- Works closely with Principal/Assistant Principal in individual academic, behavioral and social-emotional development.
- Follows and promotes RCCS Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Participates in assigned professional development activities.
- Additional special projects and/or assignments as requested by CEO, Principal and/or Assistant Principal.

Qualifications Requirements:
1. Valid PA Teacher Certification in a related field.
2. Must have clear record of background checks, including criminal history and child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, 151, 168 and FBI).
3. Negative TB Test Result
4. Computer proficiency
5. Must have the ability to effectively manage a classroom and enforce discipline.
Additional or alternatives to the above qualifications as determined to be appropriate.
Education and/or Experience:
o Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from accredited higher learning institution required.
o Teaching experience required (student teaching acceptable).
o Experience in Urban Education setting
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in related field required
