In this role as a presales technical specialist, you’ll engage with our customers’ laboratory and IT teams to discover the current state of their instrumentation and software, consult with them to determine their desired future state, and design the best solution and migration strategy to get them there. In this role as a presales technical specialist, you’ll engage with our customers’ laboratory and IT teams to discover the current state of their instrumentation and software, consult with them to determine their desired future state, and design the best solution and migration strategy to get them there. The Opportunity:
- You will maintain advanced knowledge of hospital and laboratory IT architecture, middleware and related software applications, and industry regulations
- You recommend the optimum deployment methods, including virtualization and public cloud when appropriate
- You lead customer engagement focused on middleware software deployment, including networking infrastructure, datacenter security, and business continuity/disaster recovery concepts
- You collaborate with our IT sales and account executives to advance projects through the sales cycle, including presenting our proposals to customer laboratory and IT leadership
- You gather customer requirements and create architectural diagrams based on the findings
- Scope the requirements for implementation and create the documentation our field engineering teams will need for deployment
- You evangelize product features and industry trends with our sales teams by maintaining a regular communications cadence with them
- You maintain and grow skills across the full span of our solution. Stay informed of industry trends and participate in product training as needed
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred (i.e. information technology) or equivalent experience
- 5 years relevant technical or equivalent experience (i.e. enterprise software consulting, cyber security; network administration, lab information systems, virtualization and HIPAA compliance)
- Knowledge of Laboratory Information System and middleware solutions
- Must be autonomous and organized with effective communication skills
- Experience with presenting technical information to customers
- Strong problem solving skills
- Ability to work in a regulated environment
- Knowledge of healthcare-related technical and market issues / factors desired
- Strategic planning and organizational skills
- Core Laboratory work experience
- IT network and/or IT security knowledge
