Rochester Regional Health Careers is Hiring a Recreation Aide I Near Rochester, NY

SUMMARY

As a Recreation Aide I, your ability to plan and develop activities based on observations and communication with residents leads to a personalized and enjoyable experience for all.

STATUS: Part Time (32 hours)

LOCATION: Wegmans Family Cottages - Park Ridge Living Center

SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings

ATTRIBUTES

  • Experience in the field of geriatrics or activity programming preferred, new graduates will be considered

  • Strong analytical, computer and communication skills

  • Excellent leadership ability

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Activity Development. Lead or co-lead therapeutic recreation programs according to monthly calendar and staffing schedule; formulate monthly recreation calendar, offering programs in accordance with resident needs and interests; maintain up to date records of resident’s attendance and participation in programs; invite and escort residents to programs

  • General Management. Perform daily/weekly/monthly duties of: newspaper, birthday and calendar deliveries; manage program/department spaces and equipment set up/clean up, etc.; purchase, maintain and gather equipment and supplies

  • Leadership. Train and supervise students and volunteers as appropriate; communicate with residents, staff, volunteers and family members

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.

PAY RANGE: $15.50 - $15.50
