Summary

Successful, multi-generational, family-owned business seeks a talented sourcing expert to serve as a Buyer. This position is ideal for a positive, highly motivated candidate with a track record of excellence in purchasing. The successful candidate will manage a range of product groups from forecasting to vendor management. This role requires excellent communication skills, high level of organization, accuracy, & efficiency, and a high aptitude and desire to positively impact the customer experience.

Responsibilities

· Effectively manage a diverse selection of products & materials, create PO’s and monitor status

· Utilize tools frequently to assess demand changes, stocking levels, slow moving inventory, and reorder points

· Utilize historical information and market intel to create accurate & complete forecasts

· Communicate schedule, cost, and availability changes on a timely basis

· Resolve product & delivery issues with urgency and care

· Manage vendor relationships including networking, research & development, quoting, & requirements

· Effectively organize and manage programs including group runs, product launches,

· Source appropriately to ensure vendor performance and product quality aligns with program goals

· Offer solutions and support to streamline department processes to drive continuous improvement.

· Work with sales and support teams to assess demand, respond to changes, and respond to market conditions

· Support program workflows including cost management, SKU creation, PO process, and deadlines

· Accurately & efficiently forecast raw materials for finished goods and stocking levels

· Negotiate with partners to ensure best value for company and customer

· Actively support product research and development

· Collaborate frequently with other departments with clear & constructive lines of communication

· Manage high volume of quotes and POs with excellent efficiently

Requirements:

· College degree in Supply Chain Management preferred, or relevant experience

· Track record of success in prior roles

· Clear & effective communicator

· Project management experience a plus

· High proficiency in excel and data management

· Experience in food, packaging, or related industries a plus

· Experience with seasonality a plus

· International business or buying experience a plus

· Willingness to travel occasionally

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $47,000.00 - $54,000.00 per year
