Our busy Works! Center is looking for a highly motivated instructor that can pivot between teaching a reading class to teaching a math class to helping people write resumes, to proctoring Pearson Vue testing! Yes, it is a busy day in our Works! Center as we cater to our guests, residents, and the public. PRINCIPAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: Implement Works! Center policies and education program procedures. Assess new residents after the 30/45-day orientation period. Test and evaluate student performance. Monitor student activities. Maintain student records, all related files, and paperwork. Motivate students to perform to the best of their ability. Effectively explain educational concepts to students. Additional related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION PROGRAM PROCEDURES
  • Assess new residents after the 30/45-day orientation period.

  • Engage and assist residents and guests of all programs in their educational pursuits as time and resources allow.
  • Intervene with those individuals that fall short of meeting the Education Program and spiritual expectations.
  • Be vigilant for any inappropriate behaviors and report to Program Support Services Director.
  • Document any and all corrective actions; filing when designated and routing copies to Director and other appropriate staff.
ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES
  • Complete interoffice communications, including, but not limited to, memos, resident thinking cards, staffing reports, etc.
  • Assist in maintaining database for Works! Center.
  • Maintain records, files and paperwork.
  • Furnish supply requests to the Clerical Assistant.
SPIRITUAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Take every opportunity to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with others.
  • Provide spiritual encouragement to staff, volunteers, guests, and residents.
  • Invest in the spiritual development of staff, guests, residents, and donors.
  • Pray for and with staff, volunteers, guests, residents, and donors.
  • Ensure actions and policies reflect the Christian values and purpose of the Mission.
  • Handle relational conflicts according to the Staff Covenant of Romans 12:18 and Matthew 18:15-19
  • Memorize monthly Scripture, Mission Statement, and Mission Core Values.
  • Participate in corporate prayer and Scripture reading, staff chapel services, and all spiritual gatherings.
  • Support and attend annual mandatory Evangelism In Service training to grow in knowledge of leading others to faith in Christ.
  • Participate in annual spiritual growth training through organization selected curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s Degree is preferred, or equivalent related experience required.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the professional community with the ability to interface and establish relationships to create employment opportunities for candidates.
  • Organized, possess strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills, the ability to motivate others and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Strong personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Active in a local Christian church.
  • Demonstrate compassion towards the poor, needy and homeless.
  • Strong leadership qualities and demonstrate character traits of integrity, trustworthiness, responsibility, etc.
  • Teachable and function as a team player.
  • Must engage in safe and healthy work practices, both on the premises and off-site facilities. Must take an active part ensuring the safety, health and well-being of all of our staff, volunteers, and Mission guests.
