PositionWe seek a dedicated Lead Specimen Processor to join our team. As a Shift Lead Specimen Processor, you will play a critical role in overseeing specimen processing operations during the day shift, ensuring efficient and accurate handling of specimens. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate specimen processing activities during the day shift
  • Ensure accurate entry of patient and specimen information into the laboratory information system (LIS)
  • Answer incoming phone calls professionally and assist as needed
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Enforce adherence to established protocols and standard operating procedures
  • Collaborate with team members to optimize workflow and productivity
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area
  • Monitor quality control and quality assurance processes
  • Train and mentor new team members
  • Verify and label specimens with appropriate identifiers
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of specimens
  • Address any issues or concerns that arise during the shift
  • Other duties as assigned by management
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of specimen processing experience and working with Laboratory Information Systems
  • Strong leadership and teamwork skills, with a minimum of 12 months of team lead experience
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Computer proficiency
  • Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
  • Adaptability in a dynamic work environment
Ideal Start Date: Whenever we find the right fit.Tuesday to Saturday 0000 to 0830

Salary:
  • Starting pay 22/hr
10 pm to 5 am 8% differential pay for hourly positions starting Jan 1st, 2024. The starting range pay will be the same and the 8% will be added automatically to our payroll system. This differential pay does not have a compounding effect with other differential pay.Benefits
