Job description

The Rocky Mountain Mechanical Contractors Association, or Rocky Mountain MCA is seeking resumes for qualified applicants to fill the position of Office Administrator. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the CEO.

About Rocky Mountain MCA:

The Rocky Mountain MCA is the oldest construction industry trade organization in Colorado. Rocky Mountain MCA represents owners and managers of firms involved in heating, air conditioning, refrigeration, ventilation, plumbing, piping, and mechanical service throughout Colorado. Under various names we have promoted our industry and its members since 1889, the oldest construction trade association in Colorado, and has operations in Wyoming, Western Nebraska, and Western South Dakota. Our oversight Board of Directors is comprised of contractor members of all sizes, from across the state. We are truly representative of the variety of firms in our industry. The Rocky Mountain MCA operates and managers a chapter of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America, the Mechanical Service Contractors Association of America, the National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau, and the Plumbing Contractors of America.

Primary Role:

The Support Services and Event Coordinator will manage all day-to-day administrative functions for Rocky Mountain MCA. In addition, this role will be responsible fully managing multiple association events, meetings, and conferences, including coordination and logistics for a large regional conference held each spring. Position will interact with a broad range of industry professionals and labor partners. The position requires a high level of organization, great communication skills, knowledge of office equipment and technology, and a willingness to learn.

Position Responsibilities:

• Front office and administrative support for RMMCA and shared office space partners

• General administrative duties (greet guests, answer phones, manage incoming and outgoing mail, etc.)

• Client support for RMMCA and shared office partners

• Conference coordination

Schedule meeting arrangements (setting, planning, logistics, agendas, catering, etc.), and perform event planning as needed (off-site meetings, client appreciation and recruiting events, internal happy hours, etc.).

• Association and labor relationship support

• Maintain excellent level of customer service.

• Represent Rocky Mountain MCA to contractors, associate members, general contractors and owners, industry professionals, labor, other association executives, educational institutions, apprenticeship training centers, etc.

Attributes and Skills/Competencies:

• Strong written and oral communications skills.

• Strong technical skills with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Acrobat, and other PC based tools.

• Efficient multi-tasking skills with the ability to consistently meet deadlines.

• Ability to manage time and priorities, attention to detail, and ability to follow through independently.

• Strong and diligent organizational and recordkeeping skills.

• Creative self-starter.

• Ability to preemptively determine member and client needs

• Demonstrate a sincere commitment to work collaboratively with all constituent groups, including volunteers, staff, and the public.

• Flexibility to travel within Colorado to member/stakeholder locations, and travel to some meetings, tradeshows, and/or conventions as required.

Knowledge and Background Requirements:

• Minimum two years of administrative or office support experience.

• Minimum two years of experience with major event planning and logistics.

• College degree preferred.

• Trade association experience preferred.

Job Type:

• Full Time in Office

Pay:

• $53,000 - $57,000

This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee’s pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
