General Description:

• Responsible for the supervision of all Tooling Specialists who are responsible for coordination of appropriate pre-series and series tools for compression, injection molding and punching.
• Act as point of contact for external toolmakers in the US, and oversee tooling specialists in their contact.
• Monitor design and timeline status control, coordination of sampling, and optimization, as well as approval and release of tools.
• Communicate at all levels in order to justify and effectively implement strategies.
• Support Product Development/CAD regarding tool feasibility and cost effects on the serial production.
• Create quote comparisons and oversee quote comparisons for new tools and tool modifications, continuous collaboration on design and process FMEAs, and local customer onsite visits.
• Work closely with Tooling Specialists, Designers, Sales Managers and Project Management

Qualifications
Work Experience Requirements:

• Skilled Tooling Specialist.
• Good Plastics experience, preferably in Body Exterior Area.
• Injection Molding experience.
• Excellent English language skills, knowledge of German Language a plus.
• Mold Flow simulation software a plus.

Education Requirements:

• Bachelors degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Vocational training as a Tool Specialist or Tooling Engineer preferred.
• Solid professional technical experience in Tool Management and supervision of tooling is a must.
• Management of tooling personnel a plus.
