THE BASICS:

Under the direction of the Production Manager, Production Coordinator, or Production Team Lead, complete basic operation of hand, power tools, and machinery, and assembly of machined parts, in addition to conducting general cleaning of a work area.

JOB SPECIFICS:

The items listed below are good representative of the responsibilities required, but other may be assigned as necessary.

• operate power tools such as chop saw, drill, router, belt sander, planer, band saw, table saw which is used to either cut to size material or debur material.
• General assembly of machined component parts.
• Use hand tools such and debur knife, hammer, wrench, and screwdriver.
• General cleaning of an area and other cleaning such as sweeping floors, emptying waste containers, sorting material, cleaning machines, and painting.
• Basic loading/unloading of material and pressing button to start/stop operation of equipment.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as orders with special instructions, safety rules and operating/procedure manuals. Must have a basic understanding of reading prints. Must be able to accurately complete paperwork, including quality checks. Must have the ability to communicate problems with equipment or material to Production Team Lead or Supervisor.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Must be able to convert measurements from metric to standard. Must be able to apply basic math skills.

REASONING ABILITY:

Must have the ability to apply common sense and understanding to carrying out instructions issued either verbally, written or diagramed.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability or can learn to read measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, or tape measures.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must be able to withstand the physical requirements of the position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with a disability to perform these duties. While performing the duties of the position, the production assistant will be required occasionally to stand, kneel, bend or stoop. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs and stand for 6-8 hours per day.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
