A construction company is seeking to hire a Staff Accountant. In this seat, you will be responsible for overseeing the General Ledger, performing forecasting and job costing, and handling bank reconciliations and month-end close. The ideal candidate has a construction and/or manufacturing background, has 3 years of accounting experience, and is proficient in Excel.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile bank accounts and prepare related adjusting journal entries.
- Prepare general ledger account analysis for month-end reporting.
- Assist with preparing monthly financial statements and management reports.
- Prepare budget analysis reports for management and program departments.
- Assist with processing cash receipts and reconciling reports from Fiscal and Development systems.
- Assist with preparing schedules, analyses, and documents for timely completion of government and independent audits.
- Participate in monthly meetings with Program to review receivables and expenditures related to contracts/grants.
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Interpersonal skills to deal with program managers, auditors, and others as required.
- Analytical and communication skills to evaluate budgets and communicate problems and solutions
- Previous experience working with bank reconciliation, budgets and other items listed above
- Construction or manufacturing industry experience
- Computer skills in Excel and Word
