ABOUT THE ROLE

The Manager of Supply and Demand Planning will be the leader of the Supply and Demand Planning team within the Operations department. The Supply and Demand Planning Manager will manage the team of Supply and Demand Planning Analysts, who are charged with maintaining an optimized inventory position for all items across Roland Foods' distribution network. As the leader of the team, the manager will guide the team's work to ensure it meets the company's goals on service level and inventory. They will also work highly cross-functional, leading recurring cross-functional meetings and interacting with leaders from Sales, Category Management, Logistics and other teams. The manager must have a strong understanding of demand and supply planning concepts, excellent leadership and communication skills, and the analytical expertise required to meet our KPIs. The ideal candidate will have the ability to thrive in a fast-paced cross-functional team environment, effectively coach and motivate the team, and juggle multiple responsibilities and tasks.

As a response to the pandemic, Roland Foods office employees have transitioned to a hybrid working schedule, requiring employees to report in-person Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to telework on Monday and Friday each week. Due to the collaborative, cross-functional nature of the organization, employees at the NY and NJ offices are required to work in person for the abovementioned days, outside of any People & Culture-approved disability accommodation request.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the continuity of supply by guiding the team's demand planning, supply planning and purchasing activities for a global portfolio of products from over 200 origin producers across multiple distribution centers
  • Guide the team's demand planning and supply planning processes in the company's planning software (Logility); ensure consistent process and execution across team members by establishing best practices and SOPs. Coach and manage team performance against clear objectives and expectations
  • Manage important setting and configurations in the company's supply planning software (Logility) that will dictate the company's inventory and replenishment strategy, such as safety stock levels, default sourcing settings (origin vs. warehouse transfer), SKU stratification, etc.
  • Proactively seek to enhance teamwork processes to continuously improve service level, optimize inventory and warehouse transfer spend, and improve team and efficiency
  • Lead several recurring cross-functional and leadership meetings:
    • Bi-weekly service level performance review meeting to the Executive team and sales leaders
    • Monthly S&OE meeting with the broader sales team to ensure tight coordination on demand and supply topics
    • Monthly ED&E meeting with Executive team, sales and revenue management to ensure focus on selling excess and expiring inventory before it needs to be written off
  • Identify, manage, and track any issues that will cause product shortages or surpluses; partner with cross-functional teams to resolve
  • Support customer-specific requests for service level reporting and notifications of upcoming product shortages
  • Forecast inventory levels and service level to feed into company's financial forecasting process
  • Conduct and/or manage ad-hoc projects (e.g., KPI tracking, backorder reduction, label redesign, international customer orders, etc.)
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of Roland's item and supplier portfolio, product statuses, active supplier base, performance levels, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

Required

  • 4 to 6 years of Replenishment and Procurement experience for multiple distribution locations
  • Outstanding leadership skills, ideally with prior experience managing a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead Executive-level meetings and collaborate with cross-functional leader
  • Strong ability to create and implement consistent processes, and coach a team to consistently execute those processes
  • Strong data analytical skills – ability to research, identify requirements, gather, clean, analyze, and interpret data, and present findings insightfully
  • Intermediate/Advanced Excel skills; proficient in MS Office applications including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook

Preferred

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Supply Chain Management/Procurement or equivalent
  • Experience with MS D365, Oracle, SAP, or similar ERP system and Supply Chain planning software (Logility, O9, Kinaxis, Blue Yonder, Tools Group, etc)
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, flexible, team environment
  • Cross-functional relationship building
  • Experience in CPG or Food & Beverage is a plus
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools (such as Tableau) is a plus

SALARY RANGE

Roland Foods hires exceptional people to perform a wide variety of important functions that contribute to the success of the Company. One of the ways Roland Foods does that is through a competitive compensation package. The base salary for this role will be $110,000 - $120,000.

Based on your qualifications, previous experience, and transferrable skills, the Company will determine at its sole discretion the salary offered.
