Rollingstone Community School (RCS)

RCS is a rural charter school that offers a balanced approach to STEAM learning in a diverse and inclusive environment. RCS believes that students learn to their potential when they are inspired. With a vibrant emphasis on personalized learning, students are empowered and encouraged to be active and engaged learners.

A key part of Rollingstone is its embrace of the community school concept. And central to this community idea is a strong after-school program for its students. When daily school is dismissed, every day of the school week, there will be a talented After-School Teacher supporting the students in a variety of ways. From outdoor play, to inside reading and quiet time, to an after-school snack, to group play – the After-School Teacher is a key part of the Rollingstone faculty.

After-School Teacher Responsibilities

The RCS After-School Teacher will lead an after-school program that supports positive experiences and culture. The After-School Teacher will establish and engage students with a productive set of ideas, activities, games and outdoor play, as they build strong student rapport, where each child is known and valued.

Qualifications:

A love of children and experience in working with K-5 students in informal and formal settings. A Teaching Degree is NOT required.

• Ability to work collaboratively with community groups, parents, and the general public.

• A willingness to engage with the Rollingstone School Community as a visible after-school teacher of the community’s children.

• An ability to establish a personable demeanor with a healthy and respectful sense of humor.

• Collaborate with faculty to manage student behavior and expectations that contributes to and strengthens a positive culture.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 17 per week
