Description

Bishop Garriga Middle Preparatory School is seeking a part-time P.E. Coach for the 2024-2025 school year. The P.E. Coach will report to the school Principal and/or Athletic Director and is responsible for planning and implementing the instructional program for all athletic activities. The list of duties below reflects the general details considered necessary to describe the primary functions of the job identified and shall not be construed as a detailed description of all the work requirements that may be inherent in the job.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Formulating and planning all physical activities. This includes, but is not limited to, sports activities.
• Coordinates extra-curricular sports activities with the designated parties
• Encourages and promotes a positive attitude towards both winning and losing to her/her students and assistants
• Supervises assistant coaches – paid and volunteer
• Is responsible for obtaining the appropriate materials and equipment to be used for instructional activities
• Honors and adheres to the code and directives of the Parochial Sports League of the Diocese of Corpus Christi
• Attends in-services, workshops, and other school/parish events as instructed by the Principal and/or Athletic Director
• Performs other duties as instructed by the Principal and/or Athletic Director
• Performs all other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Requirements

• Available afternoons Mon - Fri
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Prior coaching experience preferred
• Must be 21 years of age or older
• Must have effective skills in technology
• Must submit to employment required screenings including a criminal history background check, motor vehicle record check, and drug screening
• Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office of Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources
• Position requires adherence to Diocesan policies and procedures.
