Quality Manager

Overview:
Join our team at Rondo-Pak (Korber) as a Quality Manager and play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality control and assurance within our organization. As a Quality Manager, you will oversee quality inspection processes, conduct audits, and implement quality management systems to uphold regulatory compliance and product excellence.

On-site at our state-of-the-art facility in [Apex, NC].

Job Summary:

The Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring that the company is conforming to customers’ quality standards. This role is responsible for implementing, managing, and monitoring the quality program throughout the facility, ensuring conformity at all stages of the process. The Quality Manager is responsible for bringing any quality issues to the attention of senior management as soon as they are identified. The Incumbent serves as a representative of the company and is expected to act on the company’s behalf with complete integrity and with the company’s and customers’ best interests at all times.

Responsibilities

1. Develop company Quality Assurance policies and procedures and gain sign-off on these from senior management

2. Create/ follow formal mechanisms for validating compliance with Standard Operating Procedures in compliance with company and customer objectives

3. Review all training needs with HR and Plant Manager to ensure adequate training of all personnel in the Quality assurance process

4. Train employees in implementing all QA standards; ensure all employees are following guidelines for QA follow-up procedures and record all training to comply with Standard Operating Procedures

5. Monitor preliminary production results by location; test and sample product according to company policies, maintain metrics

• Review all non-conformance issues (internal and external) and report and initiate corrective action programs to identify root cause and corrective action
• Team reviews shipping documents for all jobs including Pack Slips and Accountability Sheets
• Team reviews and signs off on all Certificate of Compliance in accordance with customers standards
• Review and update company’s Standard Operating Procedures, Quality Manual and Quality Assurance Programs on an as needed basis
• Prepare a weekly list of existing or possible non-conforming items for senior management; devise an action plan from this list for follow-up by senior management
• Visit customers periodically to ensure quality standards are maintained
• Responsible for all customer audits and record all relevant conversations and prepare plan of action as needed to respond to customers’ requirements
• In conjunction with plant management, supervise cost of quality reporting and review to assist in improvement of plant productivity and profitability
• Coordinate with operators to document all test procedures and results
• Make sure all invoices related to quality assurance are properly approved and submitted to Accounts Payable in a timely manner
• Prepare monthly quality reports and on all in-process projects on a as needed basis
• Perform all other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

1. Strong problem solving, theoretical and analytical skills, with demonstrated ability in planning and operations

2. Experience responding to customer complaints using CAPA process

3. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills

4. Ability to handle multiple projects and priorities

5. Strong presentation skills

6. Must demonstrate strong attention to details, follow-through skills and ability to follow structured Quality processes in a production oriented environment

7. Experience and training in formal quality improvement processes

8. Experience in Pharmaceutical folding carton facility preferred.

9. Ability to work autonomously.

10. Ability to lift a minimum of 35 lbs.
