Elementary Classroom Teacher

Position Summary:

A classroom teacher advances the Roosevelt Charter Academy mission and vision by providing high quality classroom instruction and a focus on continued improvement of students, school, and self. You will create a postive and enganing learning environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to achieve their full potential. Working collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and administrators, you will implement curriculum standards, develop lesson plans, assess student progress, and provide constructive feedback to foster continuous improvement.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Prepares and provides effective instruction to assigned students.
• Assesses the learning, achievement, and performance of each student and reports the results as required by school procedures.
• Develops, adjusts, and enhances instruction to meet the needs of students.
• Enters and maintains student achievement data in all school data systems.
• Communicates with parents on student progress.
• Maintains positive, professional working relationships with students.
• Maintains an orderly, positive, and safe learning environment.
• Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior required to provide an orderly and productive environment.
• Cooperates in school-wide supervision of students during out-of-classroom activities.
• Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of student activities.
• Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the school, authorizer and/or in self-selected professional growth activities.
• Works toward mutually acceptable resolution of interpersonal conflicts as they arise.
• Attends and participates positively in meetings.
• Regularly reads, learns, and appropriately applies new information into practice.
• Develops cooperation and collaborative work efforts that generally benefit all involved parties.
• Develops work relationships that respect others’ strengths and abilities.

• Monday to Friday 7:15 a.m. - 3:45 p.m. - 187 days per year
