Job Description
***Only qualified Project Controls Specialist candidates located in the Denver, CO area will be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***
Qualifications:
• Targeting 5-7 years’ experience with cost accounting within construction industry, renewables would be a plus
• Have had success with folks from oil and gas industries as well
• Must have experience with forecasting, accruals
• Experience in SAP (ECC) is strongly preferred
• Strong proficiency with Excel is also required; pivot tables, graphs, Macros experience would be nice
• Must have advanced MS Excel skills
• Experience with Primavera P6, SAP Work and Asset Management required depending on additional job details
• Familiarity with data analytics reporting tools preferred
Scope of the work/project:
• The Project Controls Specialist could be described as more of an analyst position or construction accountant
• Essentially the role is to provide cost tracking/cost forecasting on our major projects within energy supply which ranges anywhere from coal to gas, wind, solar and battery; anything to do with generation
• This role will work alongside our project managers to keep track of the project financials, the health of those financials and the project as a whole by submitting monthly forecasts accruals
• Historically, these roles have been cost or scheduling focused
• This role is on the cost side; however, the manager is open to seeing both cost and scheduling experience
Project Controls Specialist Responsibilities:
• Perform primary project controls assignments to support Project Managers
• Accountable for generating reports, assisting with control activities, responding to data requests and developing/maintaining/supporting project schedules and/or detailed cost tracking
• Coordinates with Project Managers to obtain weekly and monthly cost and schedule updates
• Assist the Project Managers in providing accurate project forecasting and review of expenditures
