Senior Accountants, we have an exciting opportunity for you! One of our leading client''s is seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis. Located in Southern California, the successful candidate will be responsible for applying complex accounting principles and procedures to analyze financial information, prepare financial reports, and oversee accounting controls. To be successful in this role you should have at least 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a mid to senior level role. You should also have experience with the full Accounting Close process and Financial Statement preparation, and be proficient in Excel and other accounting software.
The ideal candidate will have the following skills & experience:
Minimum 5 Years of Accountant experience
Minimum 3 years mid-level Accountant experience with full Accounting Close process and Financial Statement preparation preferred.
Experience working in mid-large-sized corporations.
Experienced in managing complex accounting and variance analysis.
Demonstrated experience in mentoring and training lower-level Accountants/Accounting Staff members.
Demonstrated experience in leading projects and teams.
Intermediate-level users of Excel must be proficient with pivots, lookups, and data management.
General Ledger, journal entries, calculating & posting accruals.
Fixed Assets, AP/AR, Purchasing & Procurement
Strong time management skills
Strong communication & presentation skills

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Prepares highly complex journal entries for entry into the general ledger system on a monthly basis by collecting necessary data, analyzing and/or allocating costs, and preparing audit train support for the journal entries.
Analyzes general ledger accounts for accuracy; analyzes accrual accounts to ensure proper accruals.
Collects and analyzes financial data and prepares monthly combined financial statements and reports. Performs additional analysis for explanatory text required for reports and statements. Coordinates preparation of monthly financial packages and reviews for accuracy.
Participates in monthly financial meetings for discussion and review of monthly financial reports.
Assists with the preparation of year-end closings. Prepares annual long-term and short-term financial statements in compliance with accounting guidelines and U.S. GAAP. Assists in the preparation of working papers for the annual audit.
Provides expertise and guidance to other Finance personnel for proper internal and external financial accounting procedures and their application.
Assists with the preparation of annual budgets, updates, and strategic plans for assigned areas. Coordinates preparation of monthly combining entries to combine financial results.
Prepares quarterly consolidation reports for consolidation.
Assists with the maintenance and application of internal controls.
Prepares highly advanced financial reports in a timely and accurate manner; and completes individual analytical projects in a satisfactory manner given abstract project guidelines.
Assists departmental managers/directors with the supervision of other clerical and professional staff of the department as required.
Education and Experience
Education: Bachelor''''s Degree (accredited) in accounting or instead of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and four years of relevant work experience.
Five years of relevant work experience (in addition to education requirements).
Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required
Expert accounting, accounts payable, and/or accounts receivable knowledge may be required.
