The Medical Staff Services Coordinator assists with credentialing and medical staff duties consistent with the scope of practice and functions, within the philosophy and overall plan of care at RMC. The Coordinator displays positive support for the values and mission of RMC. This position coordinates and documents all medical staff department activities to assure compliance with medical staff bylaws, documents, and TJC and other applicable federal, state and local regulatory and accrediting agencies. This position assists with credentialing and privileging activities for applicants for appointment/reappointment of medical staff and advanced practice professional privileges/practice prerogatives. Other Medical Staff duties will be assigned as needed. This position also manages the department’s secretary duties such as handling provider badge functions, copying and scanning documents, answering and addressing phone calls and walk-ins, and other duties as assigned.
Well organized for prioritization of responsibilities – ability to multitask well is mandatory
Ability to analyze and audit compliance with submitted medical staff documents.
Highly detail-oriented to effectively prepare credentialing documents, grids, department meetings, minutes, maintain calendars, etc.
Ability to communicate information and ideas in a concise, effective and appropriate manner.
Capability to establish productive work relationships with all levels of management, and independent judgment skills in working with Medical Staff leaders to foster improvements.
Appreciation for the need for accuracy and ability to maintain constant accuracy.
Working knowledge of TJC and medical terminology.
Advanced computer skills in Outlook, Excel, Adobe, and Word.
