Work Hours:

  • This is a part-time position typically requiring 10-20 Hours per week, hours may vary based on work that needs to be completed.
  • Weekend hours are required.
  • Work schedule will be coordinated with the Cleaning Manager

Summary:

The Cleaning Specialist works to perform assigned daily janitorial tasks throughout the site while operating within Quality System and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices. The Cleaning Manager’s basic duties include at a minimum, performing and coordinating, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, collecting trash, keeping all restrooms, break rooms, office spaces, and production areas clean and free of debris. All surfaces including floors, baseboards, windows, walls, doors, tables, chairs, and specific production equipment shall be cleaned with appropriate chemical products to reduce the spread of bacteria and other microorganisms.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Maintain cleaning routines for Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly and Annual cleaning tasks.
  • Assist with training and mentoring other cleaning staff as needed.
  • Maintains and cleans all floor surfaces, including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting or vacuuming.
  • Collects and empties trash and paper receptacles for proper disposal.
  • Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and equipment, in order to prevent damage to floors and other objects.
  • Clean, monitor and maintain restrooms, break rooms, office spaces, production areas and warehousing areas.
  • Clean floors, baseboards, windows, walls, doors, tables, chairs, and specific production equipment using appropriate cleaners and equipment.
  • Replenishes paper products and sanitary supplies.
  • Follows housekeeping schedule outlined and developed with immediate supervisor.
  • Use of heavy cleaning equipment, such as vacuums and mop buckets.

Attendance: Attendance is an essential function of this role. The Cleaning Specialist is expected to adhere to regular working hours and be present for all required meetings, training, and duties as outlined in the job responsibilities.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • As necessary, operate within Quality System and FDA Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • As necessary, operate within Quality System Procedures (QSPs).

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and/or one-year related experience; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and understand documents written in English such as safety rules, work instructions, and procedure manuals. Must be fluent and able to understand and speak English.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide with the assistance of a calculator.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to understand and carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Good eyesight: Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
