The Landscape Construction Cost Estimator is responsible for the accurate and efficient summation of Material, Labor, Equipment and Miscellaneous Items required to construct any given project or a particular scope of work.
Cost Estimator General Responsibilities:
· Review Construction Drawings and Specifications and determine Scope of Work
· Communicate with Estimating Assistant to contact Subcontractors if required
· Communicate with Clients regarding price and scope of work
· Communicate with Vendors regarding materials required of the project
· Develop RFI’s for clarification of Drawings and/or written Specifications
· Develop Cost Estimate using Bid2Win Estimating Software
· Have and understanding of General Accounting Principles in order to properly setup awarded projects within RCI’s Accounting Software
Cost Estimator Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
· Coordinate and Review plans and specifications with assistant personnel for the purpose of developing accurate takeoffs
· Develop RFI’s (requests for information) for clarification of items provided within the Contract Documents
· Attend Pre-Bid Meetings required
· Review takeoffs for accuracy and completeness
· Coordinate and Communicate with required Subcontractors to determine Scope of Work
· Analyze Subcontractor and/or Vendor quotes for accuracy and completeness
· Develop Cost Estimates for review by the Director of Estimating
· Follow-Up with Prime Contractors and/or Clients for determining if RCI will be awarded the project
· Assist Contracting in Job Cost Setup if awarded a project
· Conduct Project Turnover Meetings from Estimating to Project Management Team
