Rouge Mocap is Hiring a Lighting Artist Near Marina del Rey, CA

We are seeking a talented and experienced Lighting Artist to join our game cinematics team. As a vital member of our creative team, you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge AAA video games. If you are a passionate and skilled lighting artist with a keen eye for detail and a drive for excellence, we want you on our team! This is an on-site role located in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Use industry standard tools and techniques to create dynamic and immersive lighting that enhances gameplay and storytelling. 
  • Optimize lighting and shadowing to ensure optimal performance on various gaming platforms.
  • Troubleshoot and solve technical issues related to lighting in collaboration with other team members. 
  • Manage and prioritize tasks to ensure timely delivery of high quality lighting assets
  • Strive for excellence and push the boundaries of what is possible with lighting in video games.
  • Stay up-to-date on the latest rendering technologies and lighting techniques relevant to the game industry.
  • Conduct research and experimentation with new tools and techniques to improve the lighting workflow and quality. .

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Lighting Artist in the video game industry.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing exceptional skills in lighting, shading, and material creation.
  • In-depth understanding of rendering pipelines and optimization techniques for real-time rendering engines (e.g., Unreal Engine).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with various teams within the development process.
  • A keen eye for detail and a passion for creating visually stunning and immersive game cinematic experiences.
  • Proficiency in Unreal Engine 5 and 3D software, especially Lumen in UE, Niagara, and Houdini 
  • Experience working on a shipped AAA game title.
  • Familiarity with game design principles and the challenges of real-time rendering for video games.
  • Understanding scripting or programming to automate tasks and streamline workflows
