    POSITION: Twelve (12) month SALARY: Starting at $30.24
    SUMMARY:
    This position performs a full range of systems and resource planning, network engineering and support on a variety of information technology hardware and software for the District.
    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
    General Experience:
    Three (3) years of experience in computer or network operations, production control, systems development, information technology analysis and planning in an enterprise environment.
    Substitutions Allowed:
    College training in computer science, information systems, business or a closely related field may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of two (2) years for an Associate’s Degree.
    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
    1. Extensive knowledge of information technology hardware and software;
    2. Knowledge of network security, including network monitoring tools;
    3. Knowledge of Routers and VLan switching, Microsoft Enterprise Server, VMware, firewalls and security;
    4. Knowledge of VoIP and QoS;
    5. Knowledge of wireless networking equipment;
    6. Excellent oral and written communication skills;
    7. Leadership skills;
    8. Logic and analytical skills;
    9. Technical problem solving skills;
    10. Ability to support high availability, fault tolerant local and wide area networks;
    11. Ability to install and maintain hardware, software and basic network components;
    12. Ability to support and resolve complex problems involving interaction between server hardware, applications and IP networks by working with equipment vendors and customers;
    13. Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation, change logs and reports;
    14. Ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    The following identifies the primary and essential functions of the position and is not intended to be an exhaustive listing of all duties.
    1. Serves as secondary point of contact for enterprise systems (i.e. network, VOIP phone system, servers, storage, etc) for all stakeholders across the district;
    2. Monitors and supports performance of all core infrastructure components (i.e. network, VOIP phone system, servers, etc.) as well as Data Center and performs analysis and troubleshooting to resolve all related issues
    3. Assists users by determining and/or troubleshooting problems with network, hardware and software;
    4. Elevates more complex problems to Manager and/or vendors as necessary;
    5. Maintains materials such as manuals, user guides and training materials;
    6. Maintains service logs and/or on-line trouble logs, inventories of computer and/or voice equipment and diagrams;
    7. Monitors performance and provides input into performance evaluations;
    8. Performs, coordinates or assists in purchasing, acquisition, installation, placement, storage, maintenance, inventory and distribution processes of information systems equipment and software products;
    9. Provides a variety of support services to IT Department staff;
    10. Provides help desk and/or problem determination services to users by responding to calls, email and personnel requests for technical support;
    11. Provides training for IT Department staff and users;
    12. Uses hardware and/or software aids and diagnostic tools to troubleshoot network;
    13. Works with IT Manager to develop processes and procedures;
    14. Maintains an accessible, comprehensive local knowledgebase of key functions, best practices, plus training documents and other related materials;
    15. Uses project management templates and/or best practices to manage projects;
    16. Maintains appropriate Active Directory and group policy activities;
    17. Ensures all core system backups are in place and successfully executed;
    18. Maintains windows updates (e.g. WSUS servers);
    19. Manages mass software deployments;
    20. Manages and maintains SCCM server;
    21. Manages student accounts in various web-based programs;
    22. Performs related duties as required.
