Round Peg Solutions is Hiring a Director of Operations Near Illinois, IL

Are you an Operations Manager, who is ready to step into a Director of Operations role, or already a Director of Operations looking for a new exciting challenge? RPS has been retained by a multi-billion dollar, global Aerospace Manufacturer based in Illinois, to find their next Director of Operations to join them at an exciting time of growth and expansion. You will get the chance to work on one of their largest, most historic sites and play a pivotal part in modernizing and implementing automation technology, work on newly won military projects, and oversee and improve the division's value streams.

Compensation and package:

  • $190-228k DOE – per annum – 30% bonus
  • RSU/ equity within the business
  • Relocation Assistances – Renting/ Homeowner

The responsibilities of the Director of Operations role are as follows:

  • Control operating costs across the assembly and test divisions.
  • Manage a function of 70 highly skilled people in assembly, test, and MRO teams.
  • Lead the function in driving production optimization, automation, and output increase.
  • Play a pivotal role in CAPEX projects to improve assembly and test efficiencies.
  • Support the digital transformation of production and MRO areas.
  • Motivate, lead, and inspire all team members to perform at their maximum capacity.
  • Promote lean manufacturing activities across all areas to minimize waste and increase productivity.
  • Lead from the front as a hands-on leader who is willing to drive improvements across all operations.

The experience required for the Director of Operations role is as follows:

  • Degree qualified in Business Management, Engineering, Science, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrable background in successful leadership of technical teams.
  • Knowledge of assembly and test engineering within an aerospace or defence environment.
  • MRO FAA 145 / CFR14 knowledge.
  • Ability to improve production and MRO activities via CAPEX and investment in automation.
  • Great communication and leadership capability.
