Overview:

Responsible for preparing & painting new & previously painted surfaces of building structures, furniture, & equipment. Ensuring proper application techniques, various products, & visual ability to identify colors & patterns. Supervise & direct lower class painters.

Responsibilities:
  • General

    • Prepare various surfaces for proper application of paint (matching preexisting colors, removal of any covers, sanding, caulking, grouting, plastering, resetting of any stone or wood, etc.)
    • Ensuring highest quality paint application (mixing colors, brushes, rollers, & spray guns)
    • Installing, repairing, and maintaining various surfaces that is paint related throughout the facility.
    • Surfaces: Wood, tile, ceiling panels, plaster, spackle, vinyl, paper, fabric, cinderblock, cement, tile, foil wall coverings, furniture, equipment, etc. (Preexisting and New)
    • Ensure all work stations and supplies are properly cleaned before, during and after shift.

    Safety

    • Prevent accidents and maintain sanitary conditions.
    • Insure good employee morale and a productive work environment.
    • Additional projects and events as assigned by management.
    • Attend department and hotel meetings and trainings

    Guest Service

    • Ensure positive guest services in all areas. Respond to complaints, taking all appropriate actions to turn dissatisfied guest into return guests.

    Operational responsibilities

    • Work with other departments to coordinate assistance.
    • Ensure proper security procedures are in place to protect employees, guests; and company assets for loss or theft.
    • Ensure a safe working and guest environment to reduce the risk of injury and accidents.
    • Immediately complete accident reports in the event of a guest or employee injury.
    • Ensure all equipment is properly maintained and immediately report any maintenance issues.
Qualifications:
    • The ability to Use:
      • Hand and power tools: brushes, rollers, scrapers, sandpaper, spray guns, lifts, power washers, scaffolding, etc.
      • Test equipment
      • Read and understand blueprints
    • General Knowledge of:
      • Visual ability: interpret paint colors and simulating materials finishes using paint or various techniques (tile, concrete, wood, paper, etc)
      • Carpentry: Tile and masonry, framing, etc.
      • HIOSH standards and application for working with chemicals
    • 1-2 years experience.
    • Ability to deal with guests complaints and problems in compliance with hotel policy and guests expectations.
